Power over Ethernet (PoE) – Reliable, Economical, Eco-Friendly

Power over Ethernet (PoE) enables you to deliver power to telephones sets and other PoE enabled end points without requiring an AC adapter at the end point.

Some benefits of PoE:

  • Reduced wire clutter
  • Reduced power consumption
  • No need to be near a power outlet
  • Most importantly – ability to centralize power back-up

Keeping the above in mind, many standards-based SIP phones including the Syspine IP Phone 310 for Microsoft Response Point were designed with built-in PoE. To take advantage of this feature, all you need is a PoE switch. Once power is centralized, the PoE switch and Phone System can both be connected to a UPS back up power supply thus protecting from unnecessary downtime in the event of a power failure.
