The Intertex Internet Gate is a series of broadband access products for the small office, home office or the advanced home user. The IX67 series consist of stand alone firewall models and the IX78 series come in both stand alone models as well as models with built-in ADSL Modems.

The Intertex Internet Gate (IX series) is a firewall and router for the small-office/home-office (SOHO) market that has a unique support for the SIP protocol through its built-in SIP Proxy and Registrar. The IX series can also include a built-in ADSL modem, 802.11b wireless access, and smart card reader, making it a complete solution for the SOHO segment. The IX series was developed with the needs of the SOHO market in mind, creating a product that could take care of current and future communication for these types of users, including live person-to-person communication, e.g. voice and video, in addition to handling their data. During the on-going product development, Intertex has created a stable and extendable architecture for the IX series and filled it with features like a real SPI and packet filtering firewall, a user friendly web interface as well as enhancements such as email notification, display and control panel, built-in support for wireless networks, and its unequalled SIP support.

Intertex’ new SurfinBird IX78 is the Multimedia CPE that provides full support for SIP on the LAN and WLAN. The IX78 enables Internet, high quality IP TV, and IP Telephony on a single protected LAN with maintained QoS. The IX78 ensures that all services are available to all terminals on the LAN and that SIP and IMS are generally available over all WAN-pipes. The IX78 interfaces using Ethernet or a built-in advanced ADSL modem, supports the wireless 802.11b/g office, and provides back-up PSTN connectivity for emergency call handling. Intertex products are the only firewalls in their market segment fully addressing real-time, SIP-based Multimedia applications on the LAN.
